BOOKS I PLAN TO READ IN DECEMBER

“December’s wintery breath is already clouding the pond, frosting the pane, obscuring summer’s memory…” -John Geddes

*waves happily and enthusiastically because it’s almost Christmas

Hello everyone!! Can you believe how this year has flown by so fast? I mean it’s already December! I’m so excited for 2018 as there are quite a number of books (aka ACOFAS and Obsidio) that I want to read! Without any further ado, let’s get to the books that I plan to read during the month of December.

So this month I’m planning to read 12 books and hopefully I’ll be able to reach that goal. Below I’m going to talk about my two top anticipated reads on my TBR.

#1 The Language of Throrns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic by Leigh Bardugo

34076952

 Description:

Love speaks in flowers. Truth requires thorns.

Travel to a world of dark bargains struck by moonlight, of haunted towns and hungry woods, of talking beasts and gingerbread golems, where a young mermaid’s voice can summon deadly storms and where a river might do a lovestruck boy’s bidding but only for a terrible price.

Why I want to read this book:

The stunning cover can be a reason because how gorgeous can that cover be!! One of the main reasons I wanted to read this book is also because I’ve read the first two books of the Grisha trilogy and LOVED IT so I’m pretty pumped to read this. Plus this is written by Leigh Bardugo who is one of my favorite authors of all times so yep!

#2 An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

30969741

Description:

Isobel is a prodigy portrait artist with a dangerous set of clients: the sinister fair folk, immortal creatures who cannot bake bread, weave cloth, or put a pen to paper without crumbling to dust. They crave human Craft with a terrible thirst, and Isobel’s paintings are highly prized among them. But when she receives her first royal patron—Rook, the autumn prince—she makes a terrible mistake. She paints mortal sorrow in his eyes – a weakness that could cost him his life.

Furious and devastated, Rook spirits her away to the autumnlands to stand trial for her crime. Waylaid by the Wild Hunt’s ghostly hounds, the tainted influence of the Alder King, and hideous monsters risen from barrow mounds, Isobel and Rook depend on one another for survival. Their alliance blossoms into trust, then love, violating the fair folks’ ruthless Good Law. There’s only one way to save both their lives, Isobel must drink from the Green Well, whose water will transform her into a fair one—at the cost of her Craft, for immortality is as stagnant as it is timeless.

Isobel has a choice: she can sacrifice her art for a future, or arm herself with paint and canvas against the ancient power of the fairy courts. Because secretly, her Craft represents a threat the fair folk have never faced in all the millennia of their unchanging lives: for the first time, her portraits have the power to make them feel.

Why I want to read this book:

Whoa, that was quite a lengthy description but the descripstion totally has me hooked. It also recieved a lot of postive reviews (based off Goodreads) so I’m pretty excited to read this book.

That’s all for today! Hope all of you have an amazing day and see you on the next blog post!
