Hi friends! Welcome to my first review of the year! 🥳 Well, technically this isn’t but I have *cough* way too much book reviews I haven’t posted yet so let’s just get into the review! 🤣
Author: Sarah Adams
Having worked for Southern Service Paws for a few years now, I like to think I’m prepared for just about any client meeting under the sun. I am dead wrong.
The day I meet with single dad, Jacob Broaden, about potentially matching his daughter with one of our service dogs, I learn a few valuable lessons.
1) Always set my alarm clock.
2) Single dads are way hotter than I previously thought.
3) It is possible to go from fantasizing about kissing someone to wishing they would be run over by a truck in a matter of two minutes.
Unfortunately, I don’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows me a different side of himself—one that’s sweet as maple syrup and hot as apple pie fresh out of the oven.
Too bad this guy is so far out of my league that I shouldn’t even be allowed to enter the game. Jake doesn’t seem to get that memo though. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at me with fire in his eyes, making me dream of something I probably shouldn’t…
“The Match is a feel-good romantic comedy! Perfect for readers who enjoy a sizzling romance without explicit content.”
My thoughts: My heart is just absolutely busting with happiness and warmth!
This book was just so sweet and precious! And when I tell you the amount of times I swooned and squealed while reading this book was way too many times 🤭 I haven’t read a book that made me laugh and giggle this much in a while! This wasn’t a steamy book but it’s still classified as an adult romance. It may not have been steamy but there’s definitely a lot of intense moments 😉
We meet Evie who is diagnosed with epilepsy and has a service dog named Charlie. She’s an absolute ball of sunshine and has such a positive attitude. And for Jake, I honestly didn’t care much for him at first but let me tell you, it was swoon city after a few more chapters. They’re both such cinnamon rolls I just can’t 😭🤣
I didn’t have a lot of knowledge on epilepsy before and I’m so glad I read this book because it helps me become more aware about the people around me and how I can ever help them if I ever come across an epilepsy episode. I think the author did a wonderful job explaining epilepsy and integrated it really well into the story.
Plot wise, the story had its moments but overall it was pretty balanced with a plot twist here and there.
My Rating: 4/5 🌟
Would I recommend this book? I definitely recommend you pick up this book if you’re looking for a funny yet heartwarming AND swoony read!
I hope all of you have a magical day! ✨
Until the next blog post,
